I finally thought of how to describe that feeling

and the thing is, I dont think it's even necessary for a style to be detailed or semi-realistically rendered, I'm just so used to being able to control the style when I'm drawing animals. But as soon as I'm drawing faces, I always end up doing this ^^^style by default because it's the only way I currently feel confident to make faces look appealing??????????
Like currently, if I tried to add details or hatching to a human face it will absolutely look weird, simply because I'm still not very comfortable with the facial dimension-shapes-planes, and dont yet know where to put lines correctly to make things look pretty

But because I'm so used to adding details to suggest the volume of a shape and stuff like that,, I always feel like I'm taking the easy way out when drawing human faces. Which is then a main reason why I hesitate to experiment with more stylized/ fun/ possible better-looking styles simply because I haven't gotten the hang of the more rendered/realistic style?????? I think???

But then I also see really appealing art styles that simply look great,, and when trying to really take note of where they've put lines and where they haven't, I notice things like they have drawn a nose the size of a pebble,, or the eyes are wayyy too far apart,, and it looks great!!??? Then I try to imagine making those artistic decisions myself, and I just can't????? Like I get the feeling that I'd be ""cheating""??????????????? Which is nonsense btw

TLDR: I really gotta just do some drawing sessions where I shut my brain off

I'm the same way, Rem! I have trouble with humans because they're ever-so-slightly less geometric and I don't understand, haa
